We are five villages – Lapmežciems, Ragaciems, Bigauņciems, Antiņciems, and Čaukciems – nestled around Lake Kaņieris and located along the coast of the Baltic Sea. For years, people have called us the seaside villages, and long before that, the sea itself covered much of our land. You could say that we were actually born from the sea! And now the time has come to bring together the stories of all five villages under one name – JŪRCIEMI (which means sea-villages).

Through this site, we want to share the soul of our home – its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and the people who form its vibrant community. We’ll show you the unique places that make Jūrciemi special and offer our favorite flavors and experiences.

The website is created by the Jūrciemi Residents’ Community (a local NGO), so you’ll also find information about our community activities.
